SYRACUSE — How’d you like to be inducted to a Hall of Fame someday? How about two? Longtime local broadcaster Rick Gary, the current afternoon host at Syracuse’s Sunny 102 (WZUN) and Utica’s Mix 102.5 (WUMX) is already in the NYS Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame… and later this fall, he’ll join the SAMMYs Hall of Fame in Syracuse.

SYRACUSE — This week, we’ve got not one… not two… but four different Pictures of the Week. Syracuse radio stations were out in full force at a number of special events last weekend. It wouldn’t be fair to choose just one and make the others wait for another week or two, so we just decided to feature them all today.
NEW YORK CITY — Our congratulations to longtime Syracuse TV and radio broadcaster Rick Gary — one of several personalities inducted to the New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame last night, during a ceremony at The Paley Center for Media.
SYRACUSE/UTICA — Longtime central New York radio and TV personality Rick Gary is among six people who are to be inducted to the New York State Broadcasters’ Association Hall of Fame during a ceremony next month in New York City. 
SYRACUSE — They filled in once last summer — and now, it looks like 93Q (WNTQ) morning duo Ted & Amy will be getting much more face time in front of the cameras on WSYR-TV’s Bridge Street, starting tomorrow morning. 
SYRACUSE – For the first time in more than 20 years, Rick Gary is back to just doing radio, and nothing else. Today was his last day co-hosting “Bridge Street” on local ABC affiliate NewsChannel 9 (WSYR-TV). 
It’s another trip back in time for this installment of the Picture of the Week. Can you tell who those two guys are? Here’s a hint… it’s a photo from the front page of the “Stars” section from the Syracuse Herald-American from 1985.
NewsChannel 9′s local talk show “Bridge Street” will be guest-hosted tomorrow by 93Q morning co-hosts Ted Long and Amy Robbins. Nothing yet on NewsChannel 9′s Bridge Street website (as of 1:30pm today), but the longtime morning team has mentioned it on their own show. 
Back to Utica-Rome for the latest Picture of the Week. Introducing the new morning man at Galaxy’s Mix 102.5 (WUMX), Sam Schrier. 
Brent Axe and his sports talk show “On the Block” returned to the Syracuse airwaves this afternoon. As we reported earlier, Axe is on the air weekdays from 3-6pm. His show is on Citadel’s ESPN Radio 1260 (WNSS). He originally told us today’s launch was not set-in-stone, but any uncertainty is now gone, with the show’s debut moments ago. |
