ITHACA/CORTLAND — Dave Vieser has resigned from his post as APD and co-host of the Morning News Watch on Ithaca news/talker WHCU. Although some fans were displeased with the brief announcement made by the station on Friday morning, possibly fearing Vieser was laid off, GM Susan Johnston tells CNYRadio.com that Vieser resigned on his own accord.

ITHACA/CORTLAND — After more than 25 years of service with Ithaca’s dominant radio cluster, Cayuga Radio Group GM Susan Johnston says she’s looking forward to retirement. Her last day with the cluster, owned by Saga Communications, will be sometime near the end of March. [More »]

ITHACA — They called it “A Major Fundraiser” — and they had good reason for the name. All seven stations in Saga’s Cayuga Radio Group urged listeners for contributions to help bring a new police K-9 to Tompkins County after the previous dog, Major, recently died of cancer. ITHACA/CORTLAND — According to an email alert issued to listeners at 12:03pm, Progressive Talk 1470 WNYY is off the air due to “a major electrical problem” at the transmitter site. But GM Susan Johnston says the station is still available for HD Radio listeners via WQNY-HD2. [More »]
