ITHACA — Another new format is on the air in Ithaca — Saga Communications brings AAA to the market with Wednesday’s launch of “98.7 The Vine” (W254BF).  As you might have guessed from the call letters, this is Saga’s second Ithaca station relying on the combo of a low-power analog FM translator with an HD subchannel of a full-power station. Saga’s Chris Allinger points out an error we made in a story last week about the CHR Battle Brewing in Ithaca.  Saga’s Hits 103.3 is actually simulcasting on the HD2 signal of Lite Rock 97.3 WYXL.  We had quoted another observer who said Hits was simulcasting on the HD2 of another Saga station.  We apologize for the confusion and we have updated the earlier story.
