SYRACUSE — The long-anticipated debut of on-air personalities at New Country WOLF(-FM) 105.1 and 96.7 (WLLF-FM) happens today. According to an email blast sent out to listeners late last night, the station will begin airing the syndicated “Big D & Bubba” show this morning. 
When the new year rings in, you’ll need cable or satellite television to keep up with broadcasting legend Larry King. Westwood One recently announced they’re taking King’s show off the radio at the end of this year, ending a 52-year run in national radio syndication. 
UTICA-ROME — Nothing beats a nice HD big screen when it comes to football, but if you’re stuck at work or on the road during any big games this season, Newsradio 950 WIBX has you covered. The station has inked a deal to carry Westwood One’s NFL Prime Time lineup, which includes the biggest game of all.
Former WSYR/WYYY/WBBS Chief Engineer Conrad Trautmann has a new job title. National trades are reporting Trautmann has been named Executive Vice President of Technology at Dial Global/Triton Radio Networks.
UTICA-ROME — Programming director Gene Conte from Regent’s WIBX 950 writes with an update on his plans for the Lars Larson Show. The weekday show stays put, live from 6-8pm, but the Sunday “best of” show will be replaced by a player to be named later. PORTLAND, OR — Less than a week after Lars Larson was dropped by Westwood One, the Oregon-based talk host has a new syndicator lined up. The deal means Larson will remain on the air with at least one of his two local affiliates. 
SYRACUSE — Citadel rocker 95X (WAQX) has added the syndicated Loveline show to its lineup, Sunday through Thursday evenings.

Less than two weeks after Bill O’Reilly announced his plans to leave radio “sometime” in the first quarter of 2009, Fox News Radio is hoping his affiliates will sign up with another Fox News personality, John Gibson. |
