SYRACUSE — The market’s only Italian-American radio show will have a new home when the new year begins, and maybe some new listeners as it expands to new markets. Starting on New Year’s Day, Ciao! with Joey Nigro and Jim Battaglia will move to Classic FM (WCNY-FM). Ciao! will still begin at 3pm on Sunday afternoons, just like when it aired on Oldies 1050 (WSEN). [More »]

SYRACUSE — Rick Buckley of Buckley Radio, the former owner of WSEN AM/FM and WFBL (AM) in Syracuse, has died. According to national trade sites AllAccess and Radio-Info, Buckley died this morning after suffering a brain embolism on Saturday. SYRACUSE — More than two years after we reported plans were approved to demolish the former WFBL buildings on South Warren Street… we’ve learned apparently they weren’t totally approved. But now, two more layers of red tape have been peeled away, making it more likely the buildings will soon be cleared to make way for a parking lot. [More »]

Wagner, who some may know by the name Don Christi, is the new General Manager for Leatherstocking Media Group’s properties in Syracuse, Oneida and Utica. SYRACUSE — Even though the CNY Talk Radio trio of stations (WFBL/WMCR/WUTI) have recently been heard airing top-of-hour news from services other than ABC News during certain hours, personnel at the Leatherstocking Media Group studios in Syracuse say they aren’t ditching ABC; they’ve just been dealing with some technical difficulties.
