SYRACUSE — Former WSYR radio news anchor Eric Reinhardt is returning to radio full-time. After spending the last 3 years working for the Central New York Business Journal (and voicing “Business Briefs from the Central New York Business Journal” for WSYR), Reinhardt will join the news team at Buffalo’s WBEN this Monday. ITHACA — They called it “A Major Fundraiser” — and they had good reason for the name. All seven stations in Saga’s Cayuga Radio Group urged listeners for contributions to help bring a new police K-9 to Tompkins County after the previous dog, Major, recently died of cancer. ITHACA — It’s not often we hear about news from ESPN Radio 1160 (WPIE) in Ithaca — but multiple reports say owner Pembrook Pines is selling the station for $150,000. Incoming owner Taughannock Media hasn’t closed on the deal yet, but they’re already taking over sales efforts for the station. [More »]

ITHACA/CORTLAND — It’s a special edition of the locally-produced Homemade Jam this weekend on rocker I-100 (WIII). The show will be paying tribute to Cortland native and rock star Ronnie James Dio, who died this past Monday at the age of 67. Dio’s wife announced last November that Dio had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. [More »]

ITHACA/CORTLAND — Stations owned by Saga Communications hold four of the top five spots in the latest public ratings data released by Arbitron. Leading the pack, Q-Country 103.7 (WQNY), posting more than a full-point gain since last spring, going from a 13.8 to a 14.9 among persons age 12+ in the Fall 2009 survey. [More »]
