SYRACUSE — While he never worked in local radio, many will recognize his name nonetheless: former WTVH weatherman Jack Slater has passed away. Slater, who worked for the CBS affiliate during it’s era of market dominance under the “NewsCenter 5″ branding, was 76. [More »]
SYRACUSE — If you happen to catch Mike Cauchon from 93Q (WNTQ) looking a little tired this week, give the guy a break (and perhaps a cup of coffee). In addition to his usual night show on the Citadel CHR station, he’s pulling double duty with morning television traffic reports all week. [More »]
OSWEGO — Dave Bullard is back on the airwaves as the new Senior News Reporter/Producer at the WRVO Stations. He posted the news on his Facebook page last week, he started at the NPR affiliate on Monday and his first story aired today. [More »]

SYRACUSE — Dan McIntyre, a former producer of “The Jim Reith Show,” is hoping to try his hand at politics. McIntyre, who also hosted a short-lived Saturday morning talk show on Newsradio 570 WSYR, is running for Supervisor in the Town of Clay. [More »]
UPDATED 4/28 at 11:00pm: SYRACUSE — Clear Channel carried out its second round of massive layoffs of the year today — eliminating 590 jobs on top of the 1,800 let go on January 20th. Multiple sources concur one PD has been laid off in Syracuse, a former Ithaca radio journalist was cut in Albany, a former Utica sports talk host loses his job in Houston, and a Senior VP with ties to Central New York was cut at corporate HQ.
