Updated 7/23 – UTICA-ROME — Roser Communications Network’s 95.5FM (W238CA), 1550 WUTQ and 1480 WRCK have broken away from simulcasting the news/talk/music format of 100.7 WUTQ-FM. Several signs point to the three stations flipping to a new sports talk format. While 100.7 will keep the WUTQ-FM calls, it appears 1550 WUTQ(AM) will be changing to WUSP. [More »]

Updated 6/22 — SYRACUSE and UTICA-ROME — After a ten-year affiliation with The Score 1260 (WSKO) in Syracuse and one season with WUTQ in Utica, the Buffalo Bills will have new affiliates in both markets this coming season. Galaxy Communications has inked a deal to carry the games on TK99/105 (WTKV/WTKW) in Syracuse and Oswego, and on 96.9 WOUR in Utica.

UTICA-ROME — Do you own a rock station?  Would you like to legally identify it as WRCK, just like the former “Rock 107″ did for decades?  After acquiring the heritage call letters in March, locally-owned Roser Communications moved them to from 100.7FM to 1480AM in Remsen, and the company is now reportedly entertaining offers to transfer the call sign elsewhere. CENTRAL NEW YORK — In various ways, radio stations (even some who don’t normally play her music) went out of their way to respond to the death of singing superstar Whitney Houston.  The winner of six Grammys and one Emmy (and more than 400 other awards) died at the age of 48 on Saturday night, casting a somber mood on Sunday night’s Grammy Awards telecast. FCC Approves WRCK Sale to Roser Communucations

UTICA/ROME — The locally-owned Roser Communications Network is one big step closer to picking up another radio station. The FCC announced today that it has approved Roser’s plan to buy WRCK 100.7 from Educational Media Foundation. The $425,000 deal was first revealed in November. [More »]
