WASHINGTON, DC — Former Hot 107.9 (WWHT) programmer Jason Kidd has some new duties with CBS Radio. He’s the new APD at Washington DC rhythmic CHR 95.5 WPGC, reports Inside Radio. So far, Kidd doesn’t appear on the on-air lineup at WPGC, but as of Friday evening, he’s still listed as co-host for afternoon drive for Mix 106.5, a CBS-owned property in nearby Baltimore.
SAN ANTONIO, TX — It’s no surprise that Mark Mays intends to give up his titles as President and CEO of Clear Channel; that plan was announced last June. But now, there’s a timeline in place for the changes: he’ll be out no later than March 31. But he’ll remain involved as Chairman of Clear Channel’s Board of Directors.
SYRACUSE — You may have read about layoffs at various Clear Channel clusters across the country recently. According to multiple reports on some of the national trade websites, the company axed dozens of positions, mostly “back-office” jobs, last Thursday. Here in Syracuse, management is keeping mum.
SYRACUSE — Clear Channel news/talker 570 WSYR and CHR Hot 107.9 (WWHT) will team up for a 3-day long “Radiothon for Kids” to benefit patient care at the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse. The radiothon begins tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, and runs through Friday evening.
SYRACUSE — The WSYR newsroom was flooded and all six Clear Channel stations in Syracuse were knocked off the air for a brief period this morning, due to a burst water pipe.

Updated 8/14 at 1:35pm – SYRACUSE — It’s now confirmed: former Hot 107.9 (WWHT) morning co-hosts Marty and Shannon are still part of the station’s weekday lineup after the syndicated “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” debuted on the Clear Channel CHR today. But they won’t be together: Shannon’s solo for middays 10a-2p, and Marty follows until 7pm.
SYRACUSE — At least four national recording artists will be coming to Syracuse for “Summer Crush 2010,” a concert announced this morning on Clear Channel’s Hot 107.9 (WWHT). The concert is set to take place at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter in August… and interestingly, one of the headliners was just in town a few weeks ago for a competing radio station’s event.
SAN ANTONIO, TX — Nearly a year after his brother Randy gave up the presidency of Clear Channel, Mark Mays has announced he’s resigning as the company’s CEO. Clear Channel owns six stations in the Syracuse market, including three of the top five stations according to the latest publicly-available ratings P12+.
SYRACUSE — Even though automation systems in place at virtually every radio station in the region allow for easy and accurate documentation of every single song and advertisement that hits the air, many stations are now being watched by at least one “external” observer around the clock.
