ITHACA/CORTLAND — There are three more HD Radio offerings in the market now, thanks to the recent addition of multicasting equipment at Saga’s Q-Country 103.7 (WQNY). The market’s perennial ratings leader is now available in HD, and its subchannels are helping to improve the coverage of its two AM sister stations in the Cayuga Radio Group cluster.

ITHACA/CORTLAND — For 12 hours tomorrow, you’ve got the chance to request virtually any song you want on any of three radio stations in the Cayuga Radio Group owned by Saga Communications. It’ll cost you — but the money’s going to a good cause. It’s “Tunes for Tails” to benefit the SPCA of Tompkins County. 
ITHACA/CORTLAND — Stations owned by Saga Communications hold four of the top five spots in the latest public ratings data released by Arbitron. Leading the pack, Q-Country 103.7 (WQNY), posting more than a full-point gain since last spring, going from a 13.8 to a 14.9 among persons age 12+ in the Fall 2009 survey. 
Less than a week after Citadel Broadcasting announced it may soon be exploring “the possibility of seeking relief through a Chapter 11 filing,” one prominent online columnist explains why he thinks Regent could be in a similar situation. Both companies own stations in Central New York. 
ITHACA — The view may include plenty of yellows, oranges and browns as you drive through the Finger Lakes region, but once you get to Ithaca, it’s all red and white. Saga’s Lite Rock 97.3 (WYXL) recently helped with a pep rally for the Cornell football team, and to bring awareness to a local organization that’s got a good reason to cheer on the Big Red. 
ITHACA – We’re a couple days late on this one: W254BF, the former Power 106.9 (WPHR) translator located at 98.7 on the FM dial in Ithaca, is indeed being sold by Clear Channel to Saga Communications. We told you last week that Saga used the outlet to launch a new AAA-formatted station branded as “98.7 The Vine.”
ITHACA — Another new format is on the air in Ithaca — Saga Communications brings AAA to the market with Wednesday’s launch of “98.7 The Vine” (W254BF). As you might have guessed from the call letters, this is Saga’s second Ithaca station relying on the combo of a low-power analog FM translator with an HD subchannel of a full-power station.
ITHACA — Saga’s Q-Country (WQNY) is still the clear leader in Ithaca, but not without taking a hit of nearly 7 ratings points from Spring 2008 to Spring 2009. And in the newly-released Arbitron Persons 12+ ratings, CHR-formatted Z95-5 (WFIZ) has flashed from non-existence to second place. 
ITHACA — Lots of bicycling in and around Ithaca a couple of weekends ago… all to benefit the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. The Lite Rock 97.3 (WYXL) morning team was there to help get the cyclists motivated and ready to go. 
When the New York Stock Exchange opens today, shares in Saga Communications stock will be worth about four times what they closed at yesterday.
