UTICA/ROME — It’s a joint effort between radio and TV stations in the Mohawk Valley, and organizers say this year’s “Stuff the Bus” toy drive is on pace to surpass last year’s total of 8,000+ toys. UTICA/ROME — While the rain of Hurricane-turned-Tropical Storm Irene wasn’t too intense for Syracuse, the Utica/Rome area got hit quite hard. Several streets in Oneida and Herkimer Counties have been closed due to severe flooding, and in fact, the NYS Thruway remains closed as of Tuesday night between Syracuse and Amsterdam. The locally-owned Roser cluster of stations is using social media to help people help each other as they clean up after Irene. [More »]

UTICA/ROME — Kiss-FM (WSKS/WSKU) has received the “Shining Star Award” from the School and Business Alliance (SABA) at Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES. The award recognizes the station for a variety of activities that help educate high-school age students about careers in broadcasting. [More »]

UTICA-ROME — Roser Communications’ Kiss-FM (WSKS/WSKU) recently invited local high schools to submit videotaped entries for the chance to let the simulcast CHR stations “invade” their prom. The station will be joined by the national recording artists Lovesick Radio, who recently posed for a photo with the station crew. [More »]
