In the wake of September 11, news outlet 570 WSYR has seen a sharp increase in its number of listeners. In the latest trends released yesterday by Arbitron, WSYR showed a 1.3 ratings point increase which finds them now tied with market leader B104.7 (WBBS).
Big Mike's move to Sunny 102 has not resulted in any immediate boost for WZUN which saw their rating drop from 2.1 to 1.5, while Y94FM picked up nearly a half a point. The trend figures, measuring listeners 12 years and older, are for the month of October only and are not necessarily indicators of the quarterly ratings which are due out at the end of January.
