WFAN-AM New York morning host Craig Carton will be the keynote speaker at WJPZ's 23rd annual "Birthday Bash" in March 1, according to the SU student-run station's Alumni Association. The first induction class into the newly-created "WJPZ Hall of Fame" will also take place at the banquet.
The WJPZ Alumni Association website recalls Carton was part of WJPZ's sports department while attending SU's Newhouse School of Public Communications, and got his first glimpse of life at The 'FAN as an intern. After graduating, he worked his way up the ladder from Buffalo to Philadelphia and Denver, before completing the circle with his return to WFAN.
The WJPZ Birthday Bash takes place March 1 at the University Sheraton in Syracuse.
