Y94FM Trades Teske for Eichorn

December 27, 2008 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- It won't be long before the recently-retired-from-TV Dave Eichorn is back on the airwaves of Central New York.  The popular meteorologist will provide forecasts for Y94FM (WYYY) starting in January.

According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Eichorn will join the Kathy Rowe Show live twice per morning (we presume via POTS or ISDN), and his forecasts will be used throughout the balance of the day on the adult contemporary station.

Eichorn's arrival at Y94 means the departure of his former co-worker, NewsChannel 9 meteorologist Jim Teske.  No word on whether that means Teske will simply slide to a different Clear Channel radio station, or if he will become a radio free-agent.

This is the second big weather-shuffle at Clear Channel's Syracuse cluster this week.  Just before Christmas, longtime WSYR morning-drive meteorologist Pat Pagano was told he was being replaced by forecasts provided by The Weather Channel.  Christmas Eve was the end of Pagano's 34-year-run on the news/talker.
