April 7, 2009 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE/UTICA -- The three-station KROCK family has unveiled the concert lineup and ticket details for its third-annual Dysfunctional Family Barbecue, set to take place Memorial Day weekend at the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

KROCK program director Nixon tells CNYRadio.com, "an all-star lineup takes the stage including national recording artists Saliva, Boy Hits Car, Pop Evil, The Veer Union, and Madina Lake."

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, April 8.  The price will be $5 that day, "while supplies last."  Afterward, tickets will cost $10 each.  Tickets will be available at krock.com or in person at a number of locations throughout the region.

Here's more about each band, provided in a press release from KROCK this evening:

Island Def Jam recording artist Saliva boasts a list of Top Rock hits including "Click Click Boom," "Ladies and Gentlemen," which peaked at #2 on the Mainstream Rock charts and 19 on the Billboard top 200. " "Your Disease" and their latest track "Family Reunion" have achieved equal success.

California's Boy Hits Car deem themselves as a lovecore band. Formerly signed nationally to Wind Up Records, they have played the Redding fest in Leeds and have toured with heavy hitting hard rock bands such as Seether and Shinedown.

Post-grunge band Pop Evil was named one of ITunes top artists of 2008. Their latest's single "100 in a 55" is in regular rotation at rock stations across the country.

The Veer Union pens their name out of two words together to mean change the direction of the group. The band is currently on tour with Theory of a Deadman and Hinder and made an appearance at the Lost Horizon in Syracuse in March opening for Black Stone Cherry . "Seasons" is their latest radio single.

Roadrunner Records artist Madina Lake is a post hardcore band signed to the 2009 Vans Warped Tour. Their most recent CD release Attics to Eden is gaining popularity through the tracks "Never Walk Alone" and "Never Take Us Alive." They also toured as part of Projekt Revolution with Linkin Park in 2007.

KROCK consists of 100.9 WKRL and 106.5 WKRH in the Syracuse market, along with 94.9 WKLL in the Utica-Rome market.
