OSWEGO/SYRACUSE -- Longtime WRVO Corporate Support Representative Tom Herbert is heading inland, away from the stiff breezes on the SUNY Oswego campus. He has accepted a similar position with the Mars Hill Network of religious-formatted stations, based in Syracuse.
Herbert will be working in Network Development for Mars Hill. He explains, "My primary responsibility is to develop listener support along with developing relationships with churches, parachurch ministries, non profit organizations and businesses who support the mission of the Mars Hill Network. My full time commitment to the Mars Hill Network will start in mid-September."
On a side note, we'll take this opportunity to note the Mars Hill Network recently overhauled its website, including the debut of a brand new logo, displayed at right.
Herbert has worked with WRVO as Corporate Support Representative since 1995, where he developed underwriting deals with businesses throughout the wide listening area of The WRVO Stations.
He says he's proud to have witnessed "the audience growth of the WRVO Stations and listener appreciation for NPR over the past 14 years." Herbert tells CNYRadio.com, "I will miss the many clients that I provide service to, along with staff and management from WRVO."
According to the bio posted on the WRVO website, this was Herbert's second stop at WRVO during a career that spans back to the early 1980s. Before becoming Corporate Support Representative, Herbert worked at WRVO from 1988-1990 as an air talent and production person. He has also worked at WOSC/WKFM-Fulton, WNDR-Syracuse, WRRB-Syracuse, WSCP-Pulaski, WGES/WSGO-Oswego, NY and WSEN 92.1 in Syracuse.
