TK99 Erases Admission Charge for Concert

March 23, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- The annual "Blues, Brews and BBQ" concert hosted by Galaxy Communications' classic rock stations TK99/TK105 (WTKV/WTKW) will be open to the public for free this year. Headliners include Max Weinberg, who gained fame as the drummer for Bruce Springsteen and later as the bandleader on Late Night with Conan O'Brien during the comedian's NBC years.

According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, the announcement was made during the Gomez and Dave morning show earlier this week. The May 29th concert, which will also feature Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, will take place at the State Fairgrounds. A number of local bands are expected to appear before the headline acts.

Tickets were $20-25 for last year's concert, which featured Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

May 29th is the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Gates open at 2pm and the music is scheduled to start at 3pm.
