Adam "The Bull" Heads to Cleveland

August 7, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

CLEVELAND, OH -- Former Utica/Rome sports talk host Adam "The Bull" Gerstenhaber is headed west.  Most recently part of the weekend/fill-in roster at New York's WFAN, Gerstenhaber has been tapped to help launch a brand new sports talk station in Cleveland.  The new station launches later this month.

A press release from CBS Radio says Sports Radio 92.3 The Fan (WKRK-FM) will debut on August 29.  "The Bull" will be hosting afternoon drive.  The only other hosts named in the release are the station's morning co-hosts; the rest of the lineup will be announced later.

Gerstenhaber first came to Utica-Rome by way of WIBX, where his duties included anchoring newscasts and hosting the station's SportsWatch show.  In 2004, after what he calls WIBX's "hideous decision to let him go," he moved across town to Clear Channel's four-station Sports Stars Network, where he continued to host a daily talk show and and called play-by-play coverage of Utica College sports.

A former colleague of Gerstenhaber's, who wishes to remain anonymous, points out the following: "Adam is a huge [Cincinnati] Bengals football fan.  Should be interesting conversation on his talk show since he is now in [Cleveland] Browns territory."

Fans back in Central New York can see if our tipster's prediction turns out to be true; the station will be streamed live at www.923TheFan.com and via the CBS-backed "radio.com" app for mobile devices.
