New Morning Co-Anchor Arrives at WKTV

May 8, 2012 by CNYRadio.com

UTICA -- News Channel 2 (WKTV) has named Maryland native Janel Boston as the NBC affiliate's new morning co-anchor. She comes from the MyNetwork TV affiliate in Baltimore -- the same market (but not the same station) where former WKTV morning co-anchor Megan Koskovich accepted a producing job in March.

According to the WKTV website, Boston got into television at the age of 16, with an internship that led to some reporting and hosting duties at DC Public School TV. After graduating from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Boston signed with MyNetwork affiliate WUTB there. During her time at WUTB, she also interned at DC Fox affiliate WTTG.

Boston, who's been sitting alongside Mohawk Valley native and veteran morning co-anchor Don Shipman for a few days now, is married to an ordained minister, and they have two children.
