UTICA/ROME -- Townsquare Media's Newsradio 950 WIBX has moved Dr. Dean Edell from Sundays to Saturdays, replacing a late afternoon vacancy left by MoneyTalk. Last month, the latter's host, Bob Brinker, rumored to be in his late 60s, announced he would be scaling back his twice-a-weekend show to Sundays only.

PORTLAND, OR -- Less than a week after Lars Larson was dropped by Westwood One, the Oregon-based talk host has a new syndicator lined up. The deal means Larson will remain on the air with at least one of his two local affiliates.
PORTLAND, OR -- According to radio-info.com, syndication giant Westwood One has cancelled the Lars Larson show "effective immediately," leaving affiliates to line up replacements. Larson is reportedly seeking a new syndicator so he can stay on the air. (Updated 3/20)

Newsradio 950 WIBX spent two days broadcasting live from the Utica College gymnasium during the weekend of March 8-9, to raise more than $17,000 for the American Heart Association, during it's 37th annual Heart Radiothon, a part of America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk.
From the "better late than never" file, AllAccess.com reports that WIBX has signed a deal to carry live coverage of Utica College sports. Former Clear Channel "Sports Stars Network" personalities Dave Peroni and Fred Miller will serve as commentators.
