According to published reports, Smokes collapsed in her home on Monday and died today after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 57 years old.

This Saturday, she'll launch a weekly one-hour talk show on Clear Channel urban-formatted Power 620 (WHEN). The new show will focus on topics of interest to women.
