May 8, 2011 by CNYRadio.com

SYRACUSE -- Starting this Thursday, WCNY-TV will air a five-part series called "Focus: Well Being," designed to "help viewers understand and cope with stressful problems such as weight disorders, paying for college, and prostate cancer."  Viewer questions will be taken via telephone and internet during each program.

The series will air every Thursday night at 9pm, but it'll take two weeks off in June while WCNY airs its TelAuc fundraiser.  Here's the schedule of topics for each show, as provided in a press release from the PBS affiliate:

  • May 12: Weight disorders
  • May 19: Mental Health -- Depression and Stress
  • May 26: Veterans' Issues
  • June 2 and 9: on hiatus for TelAuc
  • June 16: Financial Literacy for Youth
  • June 23: Prostate Cancer

Professionals from each field will join host Liz Ayers during each broadcast.  Viewers can call-in with questions at 315-451-2414 or 1-800-451-2414.  Questions will also be accepted via the station website, wcny.org.

If you happen to miss any of the shows, WCNY says video of the specials -- along with additional information on each issue -- will be made available online at wcny.org.
