WRVO picks up national award

August 27, 2001 by Scott Jameson

Local public radio station WRVO has been honored with a national news award for best interview program.

The Public Radio News Directors Incorporated organization recognized the locally produced Public Interest - Mexico Bricks and its host Chris Ulanowski by referring to the show as "engaging radio in a solid format and a host that keeps the show moving without being overbearing."

The listener call-in program examined the issues surrounding the installation of bricks with religious comments in a sidewalk at Mexico Academy and Central School. The 2001 PRNDI awards were presented in a ceremony on July 29 in San Diego, CA.
