Landmark looks to state grant and Clear Channel deal

Syracuse’s Landmark Theatre hopes that planned renovations to the historic theater will help it bring top shelf, Broadway sized shows to town on a regular basis. Assemblyman William Magnarelli announced yesterday that the theater is in line for $3.8 million in state grants to help with renovation efforts. The Landmark is also working on a deal with Clear Channel Communications, owner of 16 Central New York radio stations, to bring modern stage productions such as ‘The Lion King’ or ‘The Producers’ to the theater on a regular basis.
