Bud & The Manchild Talk About Life After Radio

Bud & The Manchild Talk About Life After Radio

SYRACUSE — The day after Jim “The Manchild” Lerch was among the 1,800+ victims in a nationwide wave of Clear Channel layoffs, he and former co-host Bud Poliquin are talking about the cancellation of their afternoon sports talk show on Sportsradio 620 WHEN.

While we missed it, we’ve heard reports that morning co-hosts Gomez & Dave on Galaxy-owned TK99/105 (WTKW/WTKV) invited ex-Clear Channel employees to call into their show Wednesday, to discuss their experiences in being part of the largest one-day downsizing in radio history.  Lerch reportedly accepted the invitation and spoke with the duo.

Meantime, Poliquin — who works primarily as a sports columnist for the Post-Standard — unsuprisingly used the power of the press to express his thoughts on how things went down.  In a column published Wednesday, Poliquin says he had a lot of fun with the show, which lasted nearly 7 years.

In other news, the over-the-counter stock of CC Media Holdings (CCMO.PK) dropped 20¢ Wednesday, closing at $1.80 a share.  Stocks of Clear Channel Outdoor, which still trades on the NYSE (CCO) posted a 46¢ gain on Wednesday, closing at $5.15 a share.
