SYRACUSE — Anyone who works in broadcasting knows there are certain times of the year you’re not forbidden (or at least strongly discouraged) to take vacation. Those are usually the most important ratings or sweeps periods of the year. But in Syracuse, you can cross 12 more days off the calendar: The Great New York State Fair. In this “Mega Picture of the Week” we have not one, not ten, but 16 pictures from this year’s fair. [More »]

SYRACUSE — You’ve no doubt heard about various concert tours postponing shows or calling them off altogether, citing lack of ticket sales (likely due to consumers getting fed up with high prices). But one local PD says, “we just want to show if you do it right, [look] what happens.” [More »]

SYRACUSE — There are no more free concerts at the Inner Harbor on Thursday nights, but the venue is just as busy with new promoters hosting a similar event on a new night — it’s called “Wednesdays on the Water.” As evidenced by this week’s POTW, the crowds are just as impressive. [More »]
UTICA/ROME — Even though they work in the same building every single day, spending hours in the same studio — the full-time members of a radio station’s on-air team are usually not there together at the same time. But for Regent’s Big Frog 104 (WFRG), there’s always at least one chance to see the entire staff together — Frogfest. [More »]
