It’s definitely a notable break from the many years fans could hear the hometown team on traditional broadcast radio. Even though he knew people would be critical, the team’s GM tells CNYRadio.com there were plenty of factors behind the decision.
SYRACUSE — After more than a decade in local sports talk radio, today is Mike Lindsley’s last day in Syracuse. Starting tomorrow, The Score 1260 (WSKO) will lose a few hours of local weekday sports talk, as the station plugs-in syndicated talent Doug Gottlieb.
SYRACUSE — There won’t be any more “Imus in the Morning” on The Score 1260 (WSKO). The sports talk station is revamping its program schedule, effective Monday. The new lineup reflects its affiliation with the newly-launched CBS Sports Radio network. Part of that lineup includes a sports talk host who started his career in Utica.
SYRACUSE — When the new CBS Sports Radio network launches on January 2, the lineup on “select stations” will include a graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Damon Amendolara, who was Sports Director of WAER prior to graduating in 2001, has been assigned to the network’s overnight shift.
SYRACUSE — The two-year affilation between The Score 1260 (WSKO) and Yahoo Sports Radio (formerly Sporting News Radio) won’t be reaching a third anniversary. Cumulus Media and CBS Sports are launching a new radio network, and WSKO is said to be one of nearly 70 Cumulus stations who will be on board for the network’s January 2013 debut.
