SYRACUSE — They’ve been nominated time and time again for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, but still no prize for B104.7 (WBBS) morning co-hosts Tom Owens and Becky Palmer. Meantime, New Country WOLF 105.1 night host Cody Alan is named “Personality of the Year” on the national level.
SYRACUSE — Geographically, they may be closer to Villanova, Pennsylvania, but spiritually, Big D and Bubba were rooting with the 34,616 fans in the Carrier Dome for the Orange to BEAT NOVA last Saturday night.
SYRACUSE — According to New Country WOLF 105.1′s Facebook page, Chili Palmer has been hired for middays. The name was mentioned in a status update at about 8:00pm Monday, but no bio or other details have been posted on the station website as of this writing (8:10pm).
SYRACUSE — The long-anticipated debut of on-air personalities at New Country WOLF(-FM) 105.1 and 96.7 (WLLF-FM) happens today. According to an email blast sent out to listeners late last night, the station will begin airing the syndicated “Big D & Bubba” show this morning.
SYRACUSE — Radio audience estimates for the Syracuse market are finally “official” today, after Arbitron re-issued the Fall 2009 book this morning. The ratings company had to re-issue the data after it was discovered one station was completely left out of the original results.
SYRACUSE — No word yet on who has been hired for the on-air team at Foxfur Communications’ New Country WOLF 105.1 (WOLF-FM), but PD Skip Clark tells us who hasn’t been hired — a midday talent. He’s putting out the last call for applications as the station hopes to get someone hired “ASAP” and unveil its jock lineup.
OSWEGO — There’s a new sound tonight in the Port City — the MOViN 100.3 simulcast that used to be heard on 96.7 has been replaced by sister station New Country WOLF 105.1. SYRACUSE — You can expect to hear some new imaging on two Foxfur Communications stations. MOViN 100.3/96.5 (WMVU/WMVN) and New Country WOLF 105.1 have both signed on with Arkansas-based JJ Ryan Audio Productions. Ryan, also an air talent in that state, has ties to Central New York.
SYRACUSE — The new week begins with a new–but old–additional choice for talk radio in the Salt City. Leatherstocking Media Group is launching “CNY Talk Radio” on WFBL 1390, effective tomorrow (Monday) morning at 5:00am. In other news from the Smokey Hollow Road studios in Baldwinsville, WSEN is no longer airing traffic reports from Tony Bombardo.
