SYRACUSE — Observant CNYRadio.com readers have noticed that CNY Talk Radio (WFBL/Syracuse, WMCR/Oneida, WUTI/Utica) has recently made some changes to its weekday lineup. The addition of an afternoon news block has pushed some talk hosts to different timeslots.

UTICA/ROME — A problem with phone service near the Oriskany transmitter site of WUTI is to blame for recent technical difficulties at the talk station. While the station waits for Verizon to fix the problems, management says an alternate programming delivery method is in the works. SYRACUSE — After three years outside of radio, Don Wagner is back in the biz. Wagner, who some may know by the name Don Christi, is the new General Manager for Leatherstocking Media Group’s properties in Syracuse, Oneida and Utica. He replaces Judy Kelly, who left for a new gig in Florida last month.

Her last day at Leatherstocking’s Baldwinsville studios will be a week from today. UTICA/ROME — Even though Leatherstocking Media Group has controlled the programming on WUTI 1150 since September 20, the station is still owned by Digital Radio Broadcasting. As part of the FCC’s sale approval process, the pricetag on the sale has been revealed. Updated 10/20.
SYRACUSE — Even though the CNY Talk Radio trio of stations (WFBL/WMCR/WUTI) have recently been heard airing top-of-hour news from services other than ABC News during certain hours, personnel at the Leatherstocking Media Group studios in Syracuse say they aren’t ditching ABC; they’ve just been dealing with some technical difficulties.
SYRACUSE/UTICA-ROME — Less than a week after dropping computer advice talk show host Kim Komando due to apparent scheduling conflicts, CNY Talk Radio (WFBL/WMCR/WUTI) has announced a replacement: The Tech Guy, hosted by Leo Laporte, is now part of the trio’s weekend lineup. 
SYRACUSE — Fans of computer whiz Kim Komando’s weekend talk show will have to flip the dial from AM to FM starting this weekend. They’ll also get to sleep in a bit later. She’s moving from Leatherstocking’s trio of “CNY Talk Radio” stations over Citadel’s 105.9FM The Big Talker (WXTL). 
Updated 9/21 at 7:30pm - UTICA/ROME — The endless stream of music on WUTI 1150 is coming to an end. Owner Bud Williamson told CNYRadio.com late this evening that “1150 will be programmed by Leatherstocking [Media Group] starting tomorrow.” We presume WUTI will carry the same “CNY Talk Radio” lineup as Leatherstocking stations WFBL/Syracuse and WMCR(AM)/Oneida. |
