SYRACUSE — You often hear about hockey players being sent back and forth between the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL and its parent club, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Today, the NHL team announced it’s calling up Crunch broadcaster Bob McElligott.

Stations all over the country have been paying tribute to Michael Jackson, since the news broke of the singer’s sudden death at the age of 50 on Thursday. Several in Central New York were among them, including at least two that threw out their regular formats to play the King of Pop’s hits exclusively. 
SYRACUSE — There have been some changes in the weekend lineup at hot AC MOViN 100.3/96.5 (WOLF-FM/WWLF-FM). Instead of doing “mix shows” on both Friday and Saturday nights, the station has a new show called “MOViN’ Decades” on Saturday nights. 
SYRACUSE — We all knew it would happen sooner or later — Nova 105.1 (WWDG) and its “90s and now” format are gone from the local airwaves. The station signed off the air this afternoon and now sits silent, waiting for its new owner to take control.
SYRACUSE — The morning team at MOViN 100.3/96.5 (WOLF-FM/WWLF-FM) is extending a helping hand to listeners who’ve been unemployed during this nasty recession — by helping them to find jobs. PITTSFIELD, MA — Former Utica and Syracuse jock Nick Caplan has landed on his feet again… with a morning gig in western Massachusetts. And his boss is a fellow former Utica radio programmer.
There are some changes in the on-air lineup at Cram Communications Hot AC MOViN 100.3/96.5 (WOLF-FM/WWLF-FM). Original morning show co-host Heather Dee is back, alongside Skip Clark. UPDATED 11/12 with info on what happened to Jessica and Jeremy.
Movin 100.3 (WOLF-FM) and its on-air staff have won three “2008 Best of Syracuse” awards from the Syracuse New-Times. The station itself won for “Best Local Radio Station” and two on-air personalities won in other categories.
Movin 100.3/96.5 has some openings for part-time air talent. PD Skip Clark is looking for experienced jocks who are available to work weekends, holidays and fill-in shifts. 
People who work in morning radio seem to have different strategies when it comes to sleeping. Some force themselves to bed at 8pm, even when it’s still light out. Others sleep in split shifts. But the crew at MOViN 100.3/96.5 seems to have figured out how to sneak in a few winks on the job! |
